Building a Community of Growth and Hope

Food 4 All is more than a program, it is a growing movement to ensure that every child, senior, and family on the Key Peninsula and Gig Harbor has reliable access to nutritious food. What began years ago as Food Backpacks 4 Kids, a simple effort to send weekend meals home with students, has since blossomed into a comprehensive, communitypowered initiative committed to both immediate relief and long-term resilience.

As food insecurity rises, Food 4 All offers a community-led solution rooted in dignity, connection, and resilience. It is building a food system that is truly by and for the people of our community—where everyone has the opportunity to belong, contribute, and be nourished.

To meet this rising demand, our organization has grown alongside the community we serve. Through our core programs- including the Family Pantry, where families can shop weekly for their own food; Home Delivery, which provides weekly food boxes to homebound individuals and families; the Family Resource Center, offering assistance with needs beyond food; and of course our Food Backpacks and Care Cupboards. This growth has allowed us to maintain consistent, high-quality food assistance even as the number of people relying on our services continues to increase.

But with growth comes new challenges- most notably, we have outgrown our current space.

That’s why, in November 2024, we took a bold and hopeful step forward: we purchased a 6.7-acre property in Key Center that will serve as the future home of Food 4 All. This land represents possibility—a place where we can consolidate our programs, strengthen local food production by growing our own food and partnering with local farms, and create a community-centered hub that fully supports the needs of the Key Peninsula and Gig Harbor.

Our Food 4 All program advances equity in the food system by increasing access to nutritious foods, reducing barriers for under-served households, and strengthening community-led food production on the Key Peninsula.

Capital Project - Phase One

Phase One of this vision is already underway. Over the next year, we will rehabilitate the property’s existing house and garage, construct a greenhouse, and prepare four acres for farming, laying the groundwork to relocate our operations Summer 2026. These improvements are essential to meeting growing demand, providing adequate space for staff and volunteers, and ensuring that every family who comes to us for help is welcomed with dignity, respect, and meaningful support.

To bring this vision to life, we have set an important community goal: We aim to raise $150,000 to complete Phase One of the project. These funds will support essential renovations, safety upgrades, site preparation, and the infrastructure needed to ensure a smooth and successful move to our new home.

Phase One funding of $150,000 will support: Rehabilitation of the existing garage to serve as the Family Pantry

  • Rehabilitation of the existing house to become the Family Resource Center and administrative offices

  • Preparing a large portion of the land for farming

  • Creation of a learning garden for classes and community engagement

  • Addition of a greenhouse to support year-round growing

Food 4 All is built on a simple but powerful belief: when a community comes together, everyone thrives. As we step into this ambitious new chapter, we invite you to grow with us. Your support- whether through time, resources, or partnership- makes this work possible. Together, we can build a stronger, healthier community where everyone has access to the food they need to thrive.
